BY BUS

The Museum is served by the weekday bus routes 55. Contact Lafayette Transit System for other routes with stops within walking distance or with questions about accessibility.

 

BY CAR

From New Orleans:

 1. I-10 West

2. Take exit #103A/US-167 South (Evangeline Thwy (US-90)) for 2.7 miles to Taft Street.

3. Turn right on Taft Street for 0.9 miles to the Intersection of Taft and East Saint Mary Boulevard

4. There will be a plantation home (A. Hays Town Building) across the street to your left. You are at the museum.

 

From Texas:

1. I-10 East

2. Take exit #101/LA-182 toward Carencro/Lafayette for 0.3 miles

3. Turn right on University Avenue (LA-182) for 3.1 miles

4. Turn right on Taft Street for 0.9 miles to the Intersection of Taft and East Saint Mary Boulevard

5. There will be a plantation home (A. Hays Town Building) across the street to your left. You are at the museum.

 

From North Louisiana:

1. Take exit #17B onto I-49 (US-167) South toward Alexandra for 207.4 miles.

2. Continue on US-167 South (Evangeline Thwy (US-90)) for 2.7 miles to Taft. 

3. Turn right on Taft St. for 0.9 miles to the Intersection of Taft and E. St. Mary Blvd.

4. There will be a plantation home (A. Hays Town Building) across the street to your left. You are at the museum.

 

GEAUX VÉLO (BY BIKE)

A total of 52 bikes are available at three stations on campus: 32 at Cajun Field, 10 outside the Student Union on Boucher Street, and 10 inside the Girard Park Circle parking garage. Rental costs are free for the first hour, $1 for the second hour, and $1 for the third. Hours four through eight are free. The cost per hour for every hour after the eighth is $1. Bikes are due back to their original station at midnight.

Anyone can rent the bikes, but first must register online at geauxvelobikeshare.com. Riders receive a user name and pin number after providing financial information with a credit or debit card, or Cajun Card.

Parking

Our parking lot is located behind the A. Hays Town Building (plantation home).
