The Hilliard University Art Museum has enjoyed significant growth this past year. As we look towards 2018, we are thrilled to celebrate the 50th
anniversary of the museum's first exhibition in the historic A. Hays Town Building across the plaza. An exhibition of the architect’s work
and its impact on Louisiana architecture will be on display from June-December. Home tours and programs showcasing Town’s contribution to Louisiana’s
regional architecture will accompany this historic exhibition in partnership with the Louisiana Architecture Foundation.
The museum is also forging plans to expand our programming into the Town Building. This well-loved facility is rich with potential. With support
from you, the university, and our board members, we are envisioning a plan to integrate the building into our mission-driven programming.
Some of the programs and operations that are being explored include:
- A Maker’s Space available to families during museum hours allowing them to learn and create art together
- A café where guests can enjoy lunch or coffee with a view of the water wall in the plaza
- Improved facilities for private events with additional parking accommodations
- Flexible classroom space for lectures, film screenings and panel discussions
You can help us to make this dream a reality. Make your contribution to the A. Hays Town campaign today and be a part of the legacy.
