The Hilliard University Art Museum offers a distinctive venue for your next event. The A. Hays Town Building, built in 1967, was originally the
home of the University Foundation and Art Center. Explore the different spaces amenable to weddings, board meetings, lectures, and cocktail
THE A. HAYS TOWN BUILDING
The Town Building has three rooms on the first floor, which can accommodate 75-100 people. Two small lecture rooms, facing Girard Park Drive, feature
hardwood floors and fireplaces. Intimate dinners in each room can comfortably seat 20-24 people. The Cypress Room incorporates built-in bookcases
and a fireplace in a cozy setting. On the second floor, there is a large room perfect for lectures, readings, and conferences, seating 50 people.
THE PLAZA AND GROUNDS
The great lawn of the Town Building and the plaza, located between the museum and the A. Hays Town Building, are lovely settings for larger parties
of a few hundred people. Tents placed on the plaza are beautiful in the evenings, showcasing the museum’s illuminated water-wall. The best
of both classic and modern architecture combine to provide an engaging backdrop for any event.
The Hilliard University Art Museum considers the use of museum property for private and on campus events as an earned income activity supporting
the mission and operations. Facility Use and Rental is on a space and date available basis. The A. Hays Town Building, plaza, and lawn are
available only during times when the museum is not open to the public. Gallery visitor access is our first priority during operating hours.
Please be advised that the University requires a police officer be present at all events where alcoholic beverages are served. The University of
Louisiana at Lafayette Campus Police Department offers their services for events at approximately $50/hour.
The plaza and grounds outside of the museum facilities are free to take photographs. The museum cannot provide any changing area for these photo
shoots. If you would like to hold a photo shoot inside of the A. Hays Town Building, this must be booked in advance. If an exhibition is on
view, no photo shoots may occur inside the building during this time. Availability is also subject to any previously scheduled facility rentals.
The cost to use the A. Hays Town Building for a session is $100 for a minimum of 2 hours, each additional hour is $50.
Photo shoots may only be scheduled during hours in which museum personnel is on the property.

- Tuesdays, 8 AM – 5 PM
- Wednesdays, 8 AM – 8 PM
- Thursdays, 8 AM – 5 PM
- Fridays, 8 AM – 5 PM
- Saturdays, 8 AM – 5 PM
*No photo shoots may occur inside of the main museum building.
