Olivia Morgan

Olivia Morgan joined the museum staff in 2016 as their first full-time educator. Morgan’s passion for art education is fueled by her experience of growing up in the joyfully creative home of her parents, artists Elemore and Mary Morgan. Her goal as museum educator is for visitors of all ages to experience the power of art as a tool for learning and discovery. Before coming to the Hilliard Museum, she taught science and social studies for three years at Epiphany Day School, an arts integrated elementary school in New Iberia. Previous to that, Morgan was a middle and high school teacher at the Episcopal School of Acadiana in Cade, a high school teacher at Desert Academy in Santa Fe, NM and a lecturer in art history at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, CO. She graduated from St. John’s College with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and from Reed College with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. She completed additional training in arts integration through the George Rodrigue Foundation LAA+ Summer Institute and Local Learning at Vermilionville Summer Institute.
