EARTH AND ELEMENT: The Art of George Dunbar
May 31, 2014 — Aug 30, 2014
New Orleans native, George Dunbar, has been moving earth and soil for over fifty years. Making his living as a land developer, the artist moved large amounts
of earth by day and delicate layers of fine clay by night. Now retired from his day job, Dunbar is a prolific and much collected fine artist. His work
is a hybrid of Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism, of painting and sculpture, of delicacy and power, and of impeccable craftsmanship coupled with
organic materials such as clay and metal leaf.
