SHEARWATER POTTERY AND THE ANDERSON FAMILY AESTHETIC

Jun 14, 2014 — Sep 06, 2014

Many people know the work of Walter Ingles Anderson, best known for his stylized paintings of flora and fauna off the Mississippi Coast, but few know the rich artistic heritage of his family, including his mother, Annette McConnel Anderson, his two brothers, Peter and James "Mac" Anderson, their children and grandchildren. Together they created and continue the Anderson family artistic legacy through their work at Shearwater Pottery and on their own.

Featured the artistic family legacy of Walter Anderson and the Anderson family’s Shearwater Pottery. All works came from the personal collection of UL Lafayette Alum, George (Dod) S. Stewart, Jr., scholar and prolific collector of ceramic ware.
